I wonder how the sense of movement was generated for this cut. Even where there are no clouds I feel like the background is moving. I guess it is due to Ao's arm moving toward and off the camera?
I think this might just be Itaoka's best. It doesn't have the background animation Tanaka Hironori employed but the use of the background for and framing of the shot was very nice.
This is how the series is doing bank animation now, by replacing the backgrounds. I don't think it's particularly effective in not looking cheap. The timing and application of bank animation during Diamond & Pearl was much better, I think.
