It's just so.....flat and boring. Tragic considering his earlier DBZ work.

Yeah. I mean, I admire his knowledge of martial arts -- it's hard to really fault a lot of ideas behind the movement in his work -- but his execution definitely leaves a lot to be desired. He seems scared of having fun with drawings, instead opting to stick to his stiff designs.

Would be nice if he were to take a leaf out of Eguchi's book - post #15836 - instead of redrawing his work like he did in this film.
Ye, he is actually a martial artist I believe. And it definitely shows in Super, his passion for wanting to utilize more martial arts based choreography . But the example you posted is a much better example of martial arts. I'd say pretty much any well animated taijustu scene from Naruto is more appealing than this.
I really would like to see his knowledge of marital arts together with a fluid and good animation.
