It's a shame that FT doesnt get more stuff.
This series feels like it's lacking in every aspect. Why was it ignored?
It's ignored because fairy tail doesn't have good animation for the most part. It's mostly still shots.

No I meant why was it ignored in terms of animation by the studio. Not people here
Well, once FT 2014 began, they switched from A-1 Pictures Satelight to A-1 Pictures Bridge. Mashima’s tweet, [2013] said many speculated that there were internal problems, such as with the studios staff. No one really knows for certain. Plus, A-1 is known for making poor adaptations. Yuya Takahashi literally had to carry the entirety of Fairy Tail 2014. Meanwhile, Fairy Tail 2018 has Clover Works (they left A-1). It's comes down to staff, I guess.
"Known for making bad adaptations" is a very overgeneralized (and honestly just straight-up false in some cases) claim. There wasn't much of an animation debuff from the first series to 2014, so I personally think it's just that Aniplex figured FT would do well enough on its own or A-1 just wasn't accustomed to making a long-running series like this. Also, CW didn't even really leave A-1. They were already operating as a separate animation house. All that changed was the name and their philosophy. They're still a subsidiary of Aniplex.
Kinda sad that the show's biggest problem it's, its fame.
Mashima's art and ideas would look great in animated form but instead we got lackluster art + no movement
The last good work that this show had was during the movie
Like, people bash on FT for the "Power of Friendship" but it legit has some of the most hype moments in anime, and we are talking about what happens when the show has bad direction and animation for the most part. Fairy Tail imo nails hype but doesn't have enough resources to keep it up all the time. With some minor changes, it could be an amazing story... shame.
