The parts of this sequence that were in the show were quite short and I feel like they were better handled in this trailer which is why I didn't upload them from the show. (remake tag for if this gets included in the bd extras as netflix watermark obviously present in these clips.)
One thing which is priking me badly is that show was in production for decent amount of time yet there are only like 44 sabunga cuts from 8 eps.... like wtf please tell me the show atleast moved well even if there was no sabunga moments

5 out of 6 years of production were spent by Urasawa on making sure all soul is deleted

I saw episode one and it was great, I don't understand the visceral reaction from some of you at all. Maybe if you REALLY REALLY despise CGI I get it but the music and most of the 2d work was great, not mentioning the narrative because Urasawa made it and of course, it's great. I don't feel like any nuance was lost from the manga or anything like that.

The crux of the issue most have with Pluto is that the intervention of Urasawa prevented it from being anything but a straightforward adaptation instead of one that takes advantage of things only the medium of anime can offer. Match this with the fact that this is a project that has been cooking for the better half of 7 years, of course people will have a rather visceral reaction to such mixed results that waste the time of industry legends. The CGI post processing is so bad Hirofumi Masuda went on twitter and stated that he wouldn't have worked on it if he knew this would be the end result, since there's honestly no point in having talents like him on board if their work is drowned out and unrecognizable in the end product. Intervention so poor scenes like post #240796 aren't used in the final project at all, and opted for a more "manga faithful" (and of course boring) interpretation of the scene, its a shame.

With how long this was taking, I actually expected some of this to look better. The visual effects spam sometimes looks pretty poor, the fact they are cutting scenes that look great is awful too. It seems a lot of handrawn effects were either replaced or kind of shat on with digital effects. Maybe they should keep Urasawa in his own lane from now on when it comes to adaptions. I will continue to watch this though, besides some of these visual shortcomings I still think episode 1 was great, I am totally down to experience the plot of Pluto even with some of these visual blemishes.

I feel like over-controlling authors should be barred from the creative process of anime production if they can't grasp the whole point of it being a different medium in the first place. If they want to read the manga, they'll read the manga, but most people want to see the scenes animated in a way that takes advantage of the format of animation.

And while I noticed this being an issue with a fair amount of shows these days, the problem here is that this show took 7 years to make instead of the usual 3-4 months (or less) for a typical episode. making this a pretty bad look on all involved - Urasawa for being over-controlling and the animators and producers not telling him to reel it in more and giving him as much control as he had.
