stunning and absolutely mindblowing, my new favourite action sequence in one piece
I have simply ran out of words to describe how insane this whole thing is.
3 minutes of absolute talent. This is too much, dawg. Plus with the phenomenal new opening and nailing the Bajrang Gun, this is definitely one of my favorites episodes this entire year.
That Gear 2 pose upside down on the cloud is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Major props to Sota Shigetsugu for creating boards that are creative, dynamic, and show off Gear 5 while also keeping the line of action clear for the audience.
Should be Sugita from 2:59
I don't know guys... This is simply another level for me, I don't think I've ever seen something more impressive than this in the whole industry, period... And this staff is just criminal!
Episode of the year hands down
Ummmh... Weekly anime.
sugita was credited AD too im assuming he did some AD work here too?
start - 0:37 sugita
0:37.1 - 1:28.8 shigetsugu
1:28.9 - 1:41.5 yoshiyama
1:41.6 - 1:57.2 shigetsugu
1:57.3 - 2:19.4 yen bm
2:19.5 - 2:24.5 okura
2:24.6 - 2:58.9 chansard
2:59 - end sugita

that part where luffy pummels kaido inside a cage of six lightning bolts reminds me of yutaka nakamura's work
Kinda wild just how crazy this sequence gets while staying readable. Whole team's been going bananas over there
Best action sequence in One Piece. The board, animation, artwork, colours and compositing. All incredible...

oh my bad, I made a little mistake
thanks for correcting it
wow this wano team is so damn special!
how is this even possible? They nailed it
this is from a weekly show!!!! unbelievable
What the actual fuck, i certainly didn't expect such an episode after 1071 and 1072. This was the best one by faaaar !! What the fuck did i just experience !!!
Gila sih, kayaknya bakal jadi skor tertinggi 2023 ini.
this is up there with saitama vs boros as my favourite sequences in all of anime
Is that not Shida at 1:35-1:37? Or it is just very similar to his style?
This is fucking insane from beginning to end.
Just wanted to point out the callback to the legendary katakuri vs gear 4 cut at 0:13
Also Luffy's eye turning into a dragon was NUTS 2:27
Kutsuna lightnings and Umakoshi eye ?
This sequence competes with the best in the industry imo
Since the beginning of covering one piece animation until now, I can say with confidence, this is the best choreographed action sequence so far.
When you order the entire menu at once
I feel like there's a lot of inspiration from previous shots in this one

The zoom-in on Kaido at 12 seconds reminds me of https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/204501 (around the 3 second mark)

The close up of his eye is reminiscent of https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/69792 (around the 4 second mark)

00:30 is like https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/166565 (00:33)

01:00 looks like https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/200693 (00:09)

The lightning barrage (01:59) is kinda like https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/228603 (01:09)

The lightning (03:00) also reminds me of https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/216609 (00:26)

Kaido's eyes (03:05) are kinda like https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/150174 (00:20)

And finally the way he hits Luffy with the kanabo (03:08) is kinda like https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/204501 (00:18)
over 3 minutes of pure greatness this might be the best OP cut ever.
i hope dragon ball gets something even close to this quality when the anime returns

dragon ball needs these animators
Godly. Just godly. Imagine you were a weekly watcher of OP since like Dressrosa. It dull and stiff as all hell and WCI is no better (except for the end, of course). Then, out of nowhere, the energy shifts and it just keeps getting better and better. Now, I'm just wondering how Egg-Head Island is gonna be.
Sugita did some AD work on Yens part.
I keep coming back to this cut. still in disbelief man
1:00 looks like an homage to 0:09 from https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/200693
which is a wild homage if its really one
Love how one piece went from a show criticized for its lack of good animation to one seen as the pinnacle.
The part at 3:06 reminds me of Nozomu Abe's cut on DS post #157527
Why does this feel underrated on here?😭 it’s such an insane cut
This might be one of the best cuts from one piece in general. Not just the show but the movies too
HoneHone you have changed my life

Lack? Maybe inconsistent
