Something I noticed is the copy of the movie I have is 25 fps instead of 24/23.98 fps. I can't find any examples of ghosting in the file I have, however (aside from the intentional ghosting on Gregor Mendel in this clip), so I think it's possible that the movie was animated at 25fps.
