I'm still not a big fan of this anime (and apparently, neither is Shigeru Miyamoto), but this new restoration looks gorgeous!

Agreed. This anime movie has been a personal favorite of mine for a while, so the restoration is very much appreciated.

I wish the movie's animation was more consistent i really like it when its cartoony and fun and there was a point where they straight up used the actual character model for Mario found in the game's art pieces where Mario tries to grab a shell i am pretty sure
