Interestingly this cut reminds of Ebara more so than Imai, either way it is really well done, even if a bit short.

looking frame by frame you can see that the hooks are not colliding/interacting with any of the buildings (porbably they hadn't time to fix this or to make a proper background animation for the cut). Anyway, solid animation.

Same thing for the Vercreek cut at 0:27 https://www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/161048
It was cool but felt very disjointed, like their movement didn't really match the background. The odd decision to shake the CG like that probably didn't help.
Excellent job, MAPPA has it in them. I felt they had it in them in Part 1, but even more so now. They deserve enough time to animate things like this.

Yeah looking back at some past ODM cuts, it seems like the hooks haven’t been connecting with the background as much since season 2. From what I’ve gathered they kind of worked around the problem in a few ways: by simply just having the wires go off screen, having the wire cut short, so it’s mainly just implied where it’s attached to (kind of tricking the eyes which is smart), or they have a 2D character/titan to connect the hooks to. Overall though, it seems like this is mainly out of the control of the animators as I doubt they’re provided the 3D background to do their LO.

They themselves make a rough background animation so the cg team can match the 3d backgrounds with the animations.

Ah gotcha, thanks for the correction.
