I wonder why they didn't keep the war hammers eyes this light blue color, I thought it looked good. Also wonder why they didn't use that hammer strike angle at 0:01 for the anime.

The style is too different than the actual animation. Besides, the one in the show has a more clever cut for it, that better adapts the manga material in anime form ( while this cut is mostly a 1:1 recreation from manga that would look a bit clumsy in a show).

No it doesn't. The angle is far less dynamic, the impact looked weaker, and they cut Eren dodging the hammer in mid air (https://i.imgur.com/rDgmWKa.jpg). It wasn't better adapted at all.

It was rather mediocre which it why the anime cut isn't highly rated here especially compared mappa's other shows

They literally just simplified the scenes from the manga into much more simpler undynamic ones (https://imgur.com/a/GBB0hMa). Nothing about it was more interesting. You couldn't even tell the war hammer used a whip in the anime because they made it completely unrecognizable in shape and cut out the the wide shot of it striking the building. The manga's layout was just far more interesting.

Can't wait for this series to come back and for this to be a weekly occurrence...
