I honestly liked the photography of the season as a whole. Maybe a bit less blur on the impacts to better appreciate the animation effects would have been better, but in ep16 I feel like the lighting was well placed to actually look like a transformation was happening near there.

Yeah, I thought this too. I was like "This looks way better than the final", but then I remembered that Eren was in the middle of transforming so it made sense.

Sad but true. Not helped that they barely even do composite - most, if not all of AoT Final was done by Raretrick, MAPPA's go-to studio.
