Yas must be one of the most underrated animators ever. He is almost never remembered especially in the west for his key animation but look at those precise, delicate and weighty movements at every turn and step. Was anyone else doing this extreme realism and weightiness in human and character animation back in the 70s?

Yes, the nuanced swaying of Yuki's legs makes this cut genuinely top tiered. Kogawa probably had it in him - certainly by Be Invoked he did, as he proved that with the finale there. But his unmatched draftsmanship skills meant that he was more so sought for as an AD over a KA. He touched up a few bits in Yas's segment of this film (the last 80 cuts) but according to him it was pretty minimal. He did do Saito's death, which was really good from what I recall, but this is hard to top.
