One of the most famous directors of the golden age of American animation, created and developed several iconic Looney Tunes characters and directed some of the most acclaimed cartoons of that era. Before he became a director, he was an animator and assistant to Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, and briefly Ub Iwerks until 1938.
