Just realised that the begginning of the second cut is a reference to Yutapon's cut in "Soul Eater's" second opening, some poses are one-to-one.
Its even worse, apparently a couple frames were downright traced. I wonder if there are similar stuff in JJK S1...

The poses and timing are 1 to 1. That is not a reference. Since the timing and poses are a proprietary skill and creation born of Nakamura's brain, it's plagiarism.

I would even question whether Yutapon is the most influential animator in the history of Japan

It still crosses the line. That admission doesnt change anything

Clearly their intentions werent nefarious, and I regret that this happened, but I cant agree with anyone copying 1 to 1.

The scale is small here but it opens the door to people copying animation across entire projects: https://twitter.com/Bloodyredstar/status/1226942264594882561?t=yzpvAFRt1OJbpQDP1zkqwA&s=19

Timing and poses have to be considered proprietory otherwise the door is open for anyone of any skill level to just draw over famous scenes that would otherwise take years of training to achieve as seen in the unfortunate example linked above.
my glorious queen yuki sato would never trace
Given the production issues with this movie, would it be possible that this is prevalent for a good portion of the scenes uploaded here?
Probably not. There do seem to be a couple instances that ride the line though.
If some of these drawings are direct tracing of Nakamura's work should he be credited on this post?
Sato said she didn't trace, but its a perfect copy so for credit purposes you could argue that the animation (movement) for that cut is literally Nakamura's.

I don't think he should be tagged though, this situation is already disastrous enough without bringing more attention to it.
It's best we stop talking about this so that we don't stir anymore conflict.
In the ideal world we'd be able to discuss a controversial case without issue. The problem is half of the discourse is led by immature people that sensationalize and overreact while the other half is led by people who literally do not know enough about the technical aspect of animation to speak on the matter, but that doesnt stop them from expressing their ignorant opinion loudly.

Also disappointing to see a set of people change their mind on whether copying 1:1 in professional work should be encouraged or not when it became known that Sato herself was responsible, rather than Park, or some other factor. Kinda shows that they dont actually care about the craft of animation and its all just about scoring points with boosting/hating on jjk or certain people
It's crazy how intense anime fans get. If this happened in a Disney or a Pixar production there would undoubtedly be lawsuits involved, but the fans (mostly) wouldn't care. Only anime fans would go so far as to actually harass an individual animator who made a practically harmless mistake and apologized promptly. it's literally just a cartoon.
If I knew the situation would get so out of hand, I wouldn't have posted that comment. I thought we'd just have a discussion on the booru.
Moving past this trainwreck, comp has really come a long way since JJK season 1
