I'm all for intense action storyboarding and I remember this whole final battle being thrilling when I watched it in theaters. But I have to wonder if they went too far with how fast and frenetic the cuts are.

He did a fantastic job with the effects. Especially those beams. I'm surprised no one storyboarded an Itano Circus scene.
Yeah, it's a little too busy for my tastes generally, but that describes most of the action in this film, to be honest. Not going to lie, I'm not a huge fan of Kentaro Waki's satsuei work either. I think this is some of the best work in the movie though, ultimately. And Abe's effects are stellar as usual!
