Yea the combat feels a bit sluggish, but the reactions to the hits are really good.
The combat is sluggish in comparison to the others i posted for contextual story reasons. If you notice, Nightwings left arm is broken. Also the animators in these projects don't get to time the animation themselves so its the animation timers fault.
the amount of character portrayed in the fight sequences in batman bad blood is really something, especially for a western cartoon AND a superhero cartoon. i love it!
I've seen similar done in, IIRC, shows like Korra, but I've always disliked how undynamic and technical (i.e. being proficient and on-point, but lacking soul or artistry) they tend to look. I'm not calling for anything flashy, but the static camera and too-heavy attention to weight and trying to make it look like two real people fighting makes it look more fake than it should. The attempts at making animation (in features or CG effects) look and feel "real" is very much a western mindset (though it tends to have the opposite effect with me).

The direction of the action sucked too.

You can make it realistic and awesome but the direction and editing in this is too flat. It makes the action too slow. Sword of the stranger is a masterclass in the way everything works to make each fight scene memorable and dinamic.

The camera work in that movie is high class.
