Animation Tutorials by Japanese Animators
Are there any Japanese animators who make animation tutorials or have done blogs talking about how to animate? Also, are there any animation books that where written by famous Japanese animators?
Yasuo Muroi gives online animation classes. There's a link on his twitter - https://twitter.com/animesijyuku . You can read some impressions from the course on the Anipages forum here - http://www.pelleas.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=832 .
I don't know any books by Japanese animators, but the older ones used Preston Blair's Cartoon Animation. And in an interview Toshiyuki Inoue said good things about The Animator's Survival Kit and The Illusion of Life. Also the documentary Yasuo Otsuka's Joy In Motion is quite educational.
Yasuo Otsuka also contributed to the afterword of this book according to Yoko Gomi. I don't know who the actual authors are.

Tomonori Kogawa's book has his famous aori and fukan on the front cover. I want this one, but it's a bit too expensive.

Toru Yoshida has a mook about girls and a book about effects.

Hisashi Kagawa and Yoshihiko Umakoshi collaborated on the recent book about designing and drawing battle heroines.

Someone who calls himself Toshi has written several books. I don't know if he's a famous animator or not, because I don't know who he is. The books look pretty good though.
Yasuo Muroi has a new book coming out in November.

If you have TVPaint you can dissect footage of anime. To see how many frames per movement. TVPaint helps alot understanding movements in an anime.

I think books are obsolete. You can't pick up the psychology of an artist on how to draw, it's better to watch impromptu videos. And most books are all about feel and copy.

I found a very extremely technical technical tutorial but's it's in Japanese. You can use Chrome Extension - "CopyFish OCR" to understand the video. This person works in anime studio named "Wix Studio" that did Attack of Titan. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiT0Di_03OKokFYYb0u5dlw

On the Video you have to watch how the frames and keyframes are setup, it's more than what the animator is commenting. Like how the color frames are color to identify be key frames and in-betweens and setting up the tools to make them.
The people behind the Animator Dormitory program have an online class you can take where you'll be instructed by a pro animator.

Lol there needs to be scholarship for it. I can't afford that. And that money seems like it goes to a competition prize pool. And drawing corrections is only twice a month. As animator you draw more that two pictures and I bet they don't color/finalize it either. This group seems like if you want to win a big illustration contest for fame not for animations. And 10 People can only be in it!
