Favorite Character Acting
The stereotype for anime is that most of the budget is spent on action scenes and everything else as a result is nothing but still shots and talking heads. Now we know this isn't completely true, especially for movies. There are plenty of well animated scenes in anime that are more reminiscent of Disney movies in terms of context. No explosions, no car chases, no sophisticated fight choreography. Just a few characters talking to each other or just getting through life.

What are your favorite moments like this?
There's a lot, but this one I can't seem to forget

Goldenboy is mostly a no-brainer, especially it's swimming scene by Mitsuo Iso.
I loved episode 10 of Usagi Drop, animation direction by Ei Inoue. The episode reeked of veteran experienced animators from the easy timing of the characters to the solid depiction of fabric of the characters' clothing; it was the perfect episode for that type of animation. I gotta get to uploading more cuts of episode 10...

Another one I loved was episode 8 of Paranoia Agent, again with the veteran animators, animation direction by Satoru Utsunomiya. The episode was a great change of pace from the usual in the anime,it was a very silly episode but the animation style went a bit more realistic, an interesting mix i'd say, Utsunomiya's face style really showed throughout the episode too along with his sort of limb-based animation.I was drooling and laughing for its awesome animation and silly writing.

Mitsuo Iso's Golden Boy swimming scene is one that always springs to mind.
One of my favorites definitely has to be Nakamura's animation of the Kishin being released from his skin bag in Soul Eater. One of the creepiest pieces of animation I've ever seen.

I get such a pleasure from seeing the efficiency of intelligently-placed 3s (among a crowd of 2s) that are dripping with kinetic and spatial information. It's like a frame dance.

Naturally, I love how that style extends to a scene like this - Saya's braids flopping about, her yelling through the door, the crawling of the chiropteran.
